John Fogarty is a final year Visual Communications student in NCAD. His working career has spanned the past 23 years. Prior to pursuing a career in design, he worked in IT and held a number of positions of responsibility. During this time John’s clients included; AIB, Dublin Zoo, BAE, Guinness Store House and The National Concert Hall.
In 2010, He took the leap to embrace his creative streak and pursue a career in Graphic Design. Over the past five years his has strived to develop himself as a designer and has taken on a number of projects both through university and freelance. The range and variety of these projects highlight his versatility and employability.
In 2015, John undertook a four month internship at Design Factory. During this internship he displayed his ability to work both collaboratively and independently, working on a number of logos, illustrations and maps. In addition to this he also spent the Summer working for Tom Meaghan and associates, this work involved redesigning a logo for a cinema and labels for a chemist.
One of John’s most recent and exciting projects to date is the creation of both a Typeface and Identiy for WISER at the Rediscovery Centre in Ballymun. This year, he has further delved into the world of typography as his final year work focuses on a Dyslexia friendly typeface and Dyslexic styles in design.
